I&#039;m using an iMac. Like you I read copious amount of Google voodoo about video cards etc. I did figure out it had something to do with the screen saver. I thought I solved it by selecting &quot;random&quot; for the images. However, I still experienced the black screen but with less frequency. Then, after reading your notes above I found a suspicious folder called &quot;iPhoto Selection&quot;. This must have been legacy from 10.4.11 or something I created some time ago. I managed to delete it by hovering over it and right clicking (clicking it previously caused spinning beach ball), then selecting &quot;delete&quot;. So far so good. So far. Wish me luck</description>
